Axway MailGate(tm) 5.1 adds a new feature: ICAP, which allows MailGate to communicate with, and apply policies from, an External Server that implements the ICAP protocol. This is typically used to integrate MailGate into a broader corporate DLP solution. This enables you to utilize centralized Corporate Policies to filter message and attachment content through MailGate's Scan and External DLP policy.
Additionally, using this capability, messages and attachments created through the Secure Mailbox end user web interface can be passed to the External Server for DLP scanning
